Lion House Cottages

Our Spot KC is building Lion House Cottages, a first-of-its-kind community of nine cottages designed to provide housing for LGBTQ+ people of all ages and their families.

About the Cottages

The Lion House Cottage project will feature 9 free-standing homes, ranging in size from studio/efficiency to 3 bedrooms, dedicated to LGBTQ+ adults and families facing homelessness.

 

In addition to their own unit, residents will be provided parking spaces to reduce street overcrowding and will have access to our community building spaces. Residents will be enrolled in the Lion House program, which includes case management, resources, and life skills training alongside housing. These wraparound services are essential, due to the destabilizing nature of homelessness and its impacts on health, mental health, and ability to self-sustain.
